Winter relief given to the Poor tribal people at Wayanad district in Kerala from the Koyilandy Math

On Sunday, 1st December 2024, we distributed a saree and a blanket to each of the 100 tribal families residing in the 4 blocks of the village Mananthavady in Wayanad district, Kerala. Many of these families were severely affected by the recent disaster during the rainy season in August 2024 in the same district and have also benefited from our relief efforts.

Organized a spiritual retreat and Nara Narayana Seva at Koyilandy Math

On Sunday, 24th November 2024, Ramakrishna Math, Koyilandy, organized an event to demonstrate the integration of the four yogas. As part of our Karma Yoga initiative, we conducted a Nara Narayana Seva (poor feeding) programme during the noon session. We served a delicious lunch prasad, traditionally called Sadhya in Malayalam, to a group of Ayyappa Swamis who were preparing for their pilgrimage to Sabarimala. In addition, students of the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa from the fisherman community of the Arabian Sea and some local underprivileged families were also served the same lunch prasad. In total, we distributed lunch prasad to around 90 people.
In the evening session, as part of integrating the other Yogas, we conducted a Spiritual Retreat for the devotees. The retreat commenced with Vedic chanting, followed by readings from the books of the Holy Trio, meditation, bhajans, and a discourse. Swami Bhavapriyanandaji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, delivered an insightful talk in Malayalam for the devotees and others present. The retreat concluded with a closing song, and prasad was distributed to approximately 40 people.

Celebrated Children's Day at Koyilandy Math

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, we commemorated the birthday of Swami Vijananandaji Maharaj, one of the direct disciples of Bhagwan Shri Ramakrishna, and the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. On this auspicious occasion, we celebrated Children's Day at our premises.
The event aimed to inspire and motivate the students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa with essential values for their future. The programme commenced at 4:30 pm with Vedic prayers by the students, followed by various activities.
On the occasion of Children's Day, four students from various classes spoke about the significance of education and discipline. The celebration was further enriched by melodious performances, as some students sang heartfelt songs.
Swami Sundarananda also spoke a few words about Swami Vijananandaji Maharaj's life and message, highlighting its relevance to everyday life and its impact on shaping the students' future careers.
We were honoured to have two distinguished guests, Mr Vimal, a higher secondary school teacher, and Mrs Soumya, a volunteer of Ramakrishna Math, both of them shared valuable ideas on obligations to parents and society.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks and a closing song. Approximately 65 students and parents participated, receiving snacks Prasad before departing.

Conducted a Health awareness programme at Koyilandy Math

The students and parents of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa, primarily from the fishermen community, lack access to basic facilities and are unaware of essential health and mental well-being practices. Despite their academic achievements, they require guidance on fundamental values.
To address this, we organized a health awareness programme at our premises on Saturday, November 09, 2024. Sahani Hospital, Nandi Bazar, Koyilandy, Kozhikode district, kindly collaborated with us. Dr. Haris, a pediatric specialist, and Mr. Karnal M Mohan, Administrator, shared valuable insights on health and wellness with the parents and students.
We concluded the programme by distributing snacks and prasad to 73 parents and students of GAP.

Celebrated Holy Kali puja at Koyilandy Math

On Thursday, 31st October 2024, we celebrated Kali Puja at our Ashrama, where the picture of Ma Kali was enshrined beside the Holy Trinity. In connection with this occasion, our Ashrama was beautifully illuminated with lights, and fireworks added to the joyous atmosphere.
The Ma Kali Puja began after Sandhya Arati and was followed by bhajans and pushpanjali. At the conclusion of the puja, approximately 60 devotees who attended the ceremony partook of the prasad and received the blessings of Ma Kali.

Distributions of Sarees and woollen jacket from Koyilandy Math

On the occasion of the Navratri festival, we had the privilege of serving the flood-affected people in two foothill areas, Vilangadu and Meppayur Colony, in Kozhikode district on Sunday, 6th October 2024. We provided 75 beneficiaries with a saree for each woman and a woollen jacket for each man. Their faces beamed with joy upon receiving the clothes.

Celebrated Mahatma Gandhi birthday Jayanthi at Koyilandy Math

On the auspicious occasion of Subha Mahalaya, the birthday of Srimat Swami Akhandanandaji Maharaj, and the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, we had the blessed opportunity to celebrate these events on Wednesday 2nd October 2024 with various programmes, especially for children, along with devotees and volunteers. Our celebration was particularly focused on honouring Mahatma Gandhi and his profound impact on the people across the country.
The programme began with a Vedic prayer and an opening song by the students of the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa, followed by speeches from the students and teachers.
In connection with this, important speeches were delivered by Swami Shivakumaranadaji of Ramananda Ashrama, Chengottukavu, and a retired teacher, Sri Ramesh P. They shared insightful messages about Mahatma Gandhi that are especially relevant for students and society at large.
Additionally, a dedicated volunteer of Koyilandy Math, who resides near our Ashrama, Sri. Vinil Raj was recognized for his honesty. A few days ago, while withdrawing money from an ATM, he found Rs 10,000 that someone had left behind. He immediately handed the money over to the bank manager. In recognition of his sincerity, magnanimity, and pure heart, Ramakrishna Math Koyilandy presented him with a token of appreciation – a set of Holy Trinity photos and a cash award of Rs 1,000, which was given by our chief guest during the holy celebration.

Organized a Spiritual Retreat at Koyilandy Math 

We organized a spiritual retreat for the devotees of Koyilandy Math on Sunday, 22nd September 2024. The proceedings commenced at 4:00 pm with Vedic prayers and an opening song, followed by guided meditations, readings from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, and talks of Holy Mother Sarada Devi, including Swami Vivekakananda's conversations with His disciple by three devotees.To maintain a spiritual ambience, Brahmachari Guneshachaitanya conducted a bhajan session.
Subsequently, two esteemed speakers from Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kozhikode - Swami Indunathanandaji Maharaj and Swami Avataranandaji Maharaj - delivered talks in Malayalam and English, respectively. They emphasized the importance of spiritual retreats for spiritual seekers, drawing from the teachings of the Holy Trinity.
The programme concluded with a closing song, followed by the distribution of tea and snacks prasad to all attendees.

Celebrated Onam festival at Koyilandy Math

The Onam festival holds great significance for all Hindus of Kerala. It is believed that King Mahabali was granted a boon by Bhagavan Vamana, the fifth avatar of Vishnu, to visit his kingdom once every year. This annual visit is commemorated through the celebration of Onam. The festival is observed over several days, and it brings immense joy and togetherness to the people of Kerala.
In connection with this, on 14th September 2024, Saturday, we celebrated Onam at our Math by distributing new clothes to the local people and the students of the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa. The celebration commenced with prayers, songs, traditional Kerala dance performances, and speeches. Swami Bhavapriyananda of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kozhikode, delivered an inspiring address. The event concluded with the serving of prasad to many devotees and students from the fishermen community.

Distribution of Blankets and Jackets to the beneficiaries at Wayanad district Kerala

As we all know, Onam is one of the greatest festivals in Kerala, observed with great enthusiasm and solemnity in every nook and corner, spanning two to three days. In this holy connection, on Friday, 13th September 2024, we had the privilege of serving some of the most underprivileged people residing in Wayanad district, Kerala.
Because of the rainy season and approaching winter, we distributed blankets to 100 tribal men and women, as well as warm jackets to 100 students from the Vivekananda Tribal School. At the same time, we also distributed books of Holy Mother Sarada Devi to the students. Before the distribution, the school students organized a small Onam celebration, featuring traditional dances, songs, yoga asana demonstrations, and speeches. The joy on the faces of the beneficiaries after receiving the blankets and jackets touched our hearts.

Celebrated Sri Krishna Jayanti at Koyilandy Math

The Krishna Janmashtami celebration was held on Monday, 26th August 2024, at our Ashrama in a simple and devout manner. We commenced the celebration by reciting all the chapters of the Bhagavad Gita in the morning session. The puja of Sri Krishna was then conducted after the evening Arati, followed by bhajans and pushpanjali. The celebration concluded with the distribution of prasad to all the attendees.

Conducted a Devotees convention at Koyilandy Math

We organized a spiritual convention with the devotees at our Ashrama on Sunday, 18th August 2024. The programme began with Vedic prayers and an opening song followed by guided meditations, readings from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, messages from the Holy Mother and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The devotees were deeply inspired by an enlightening speech given by Mr. Kunhiraman. The event also included bhajans.
To mark the occasion, we had the privilege of felicitating 12 active volunteers who have rendered exceptional service to the victims of the recent landslide disaster in Wayanad district, Kerala. Upon hearing of the tragedy, these volunteers immediately rushed to the site, assisting in rescue operations and ensuring the dignified cremation of the dead bodies.

Celebrated 78th Independence day at Koyilandy Math

It was our great joy and privilege to celebrate the 78th Independence Day on Thursday, 15th August 2024, at our Ashrama premises, along with the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students, local devotees, and volunteers. The celebration commenced with the flag hoisting by the Adhyaksha Maharaj of Koyilandy Math, followed by a pledge, speeches, and performances of patriotic songs and dances.
Two teachers delivered enlightening speeches, addressing how we can overcome the various challenges and calamities affecting our society today. They also emphasized the importance of cultivating values to ensure a peaceful society. To commemorate this significant day, we distributed notebooks and pens to the students. We concluded the celebration by distributing Prasad to all attendees.

Organized a Medical Camp at Koyilandy Math

In collaboration with Sahani Hospital, Koyilandy, we organized a medical camp for the public and the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students on Sunday, 28th July 2024. We provided ECG, blood sugar, and blood pressure check-ups, among other services. The doctors treated a total of 81 patients.

Guru Purnima Celebrated on Sunday 21st July 2024 at Koyilandy Math

With great enthusiasm and solemnity, we observed Guru Purnima along with many devotees at the shrine of Koyilandy Math on Sunday, 21st July 2024. The programme began with Vedic prayers, followed by guided meditations, readings from "Sri Ramakrishna, The Great Master," and bhajans. The main feature of the ceremony was Swami Bhavapriyananda and Swami Avatarananda, both from Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode, who rendered valuable speeches to the devotees. The celebration concluded with a closing song and the distribution of prasad to the many devotees who attended the programme.

Devotees convention held at Koyilandy Math

he Devotees' Convention was held at our Ashrama on Sunday, 23rd June 2024. The programme commenced with Vedic prayers, followed by meditation and bhajans. Swami Narasimhananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode, was the main speaker and motivated the devotees with his enlightening speech. The convention concluded with a closing song, and Prasad was distributed to all attendees.

Distributed Study materials from Koyilandy Math

We have completed the distribution of the study materials to 600 students from 10 different schools in two districts, including the 100 students of the 1st Phase at Wayanad Dist. and the final phase at Kozhikode Dist. We started the distribution on the 14th of June 2024 and ended on the 18th of June 2024.
The list of schools and the number of students who received the study kits are provided in the table below.

Study materials distributed to the students from Koyilandy Math

I am pleased to inform you that the first phase of distributing study material kits for this academic year (June 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025) has been completed at a Government High School in Wayanad district, Kerala on Friday 14th June 2024. The Kits were distributed to 100 underprivileged students from the tribal community in the foothills area. Each kit contains a school bag, a geometry box, two ball pens, nine notebooks, a book of Swami Vivekananda and an umbrella. Given the heavy rainfall during the rainy season in Kerala, an umbrella is essential for the students.

Celebrated Phalaharini Kali puja at Koyilandy Math

As Phalaharini Kali Puja fell on Wednesday, 5th June 2024, we celebrated the Ma Kali Puja with simplicity, keeping a photo in the shrine. The puja began after the Sandhya Arati, followed by bhajans and Pushpanjali to the Mother. At the end of the puja, we distributed prasad to around 35 devotees.

Celebrated Phalaharini Kali puja at Koyilandy Math

As Phalaharini Kali Puja fell on Wednesday, 5th June 2024, we celebrated the Ma Kali Puja with simplicity, keeping a photo in the shrine. The puja began after the Sandhya Arati, followed by bhajans and Pushpanjali to the Mother. At the end of the puja, we distributed prasad to around 35 devotees.

Most Revered Srimat Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj visited Koyilandy Math

We are very much privileged and blessed that His Holiness Srimat Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj visited our Math. Revered Maharaj came here on Friday, 24th May 2024. The next day, we held a devotees' convention where Revered Maharaj was the chief guest and speaker, blessing the devotees. In addition to Revered Maharaj, several spiritual personalities from different "Sampradayas" attended as guest speakers. They shared their individual insights for the devotees' spiritual upliftment based on Sri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, and the Ramakrishna movement in Kerala. The attendees included Swami Chidanandapuriji Maharaj of Advaita Ashrama, Kolathur; Swami  Sivakumaranandaji Maharaj of Ramananda Ashrama, Chengottukavu; Swami Swaprabhanandaji Maharaj of Thiruvananthapuram; and Swami Nandatmajanandaji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Math, Thrissur, along with Revered Maharaj.
During the convention, Revered Maharaj handed over a cheque for a scholarship to a poor student studying MBBS in a medical college in Malappuram district, Kerala. At the end of the convention, we served a sumptuous lunch prasad to around 250 devotees. On 26th May, Revered Maharaj blessed 61 new spiritual seekers with Mantra Diksha. The following day, Revered Maharaj moved to Kozhikode Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram.

Distributed Sarees and Dhotis at Koyilandy Math

We are glad to inform you that Most Revered Srimat Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj came for a devotees' convention and bestowed blessings upon the devotees through Mantra Diksha. On Saturday, 25th May 2024, Revered Maharaj distributed sarees and Dhotis to 65 families. Each family received one saree and one Dhoti.

An earnest appeal for giving study material to poor students

As the academic sessions commence in June in all Government Schools of Kerala, we undertake the annual distribution of notebooks, pens, umbrellas, school bags, and geometry boxes to the underprivileged, many of whom are from the fishermen community. Several Headmasters from different schools have already approached us regarding this initiative.
The total cost of the aforementioned items amounts to 5,35,150/-(five lakh thirty five thousand one hundred and fifty rupees only) and the no. of beneficiaries is estimated to be 550 and above.
The Kerala Government provides books, uniforms, and mid-day meals, leaving these essential items beyond the means of many parents.

Celebrated 128th foundation day of Ramakrishna Mission at Koyilandy Math

We are delighted to inform you that the 128th foundation day of Ramakrishna Mission was celebrated with various events at our premises on May 1st, Wednesday, 2024.The morning session commenced with the flag hoisting by Swami Bhavapriyanandaji Maharaj from Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode, followed by the distribution of 'khaki uniforms' to 51 auto drivers, amidst a gathering of monks, brahmacharis, and a few local devotees.
In the evening, a public meeting was conducted in honor of the foundation day of the Ramakrishna Mission, which concluded with a cultural programme by the students of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.
The public meeting began with a Vedic prayer, followed by bhajans and speeches. Two eminent speakers, Swami Bhavapriyanandaji from  Kozhikode, and Mr. Kunhiraman, a devotee, spoke about the history of Ramakrishna Mission and its contributions over the past 127 years. Simultaneously, the cultural programme by the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students included dances, group songs, and a drama depicting the life and message of Sri Ramakrishna & Swami Vivekananda. At the end of the programme, prizes were distributed to students for their academic achievements and exemplary behavior during the 2023-24 academic year.

Celebrated Vishu, New Year of Kerala at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated Vishu, the festival of Kerala as the New Year on Sunday, 14th April 2024.
The Vishu is marked by various customs and rituals. One of the main customs is the preparation of Vishu Kani, which is an arrangement of auspicious items such as rice, fruits, vegetables, flowers, coins, gold, and a sacred text. The idea is to start the year auspiciously by seeing these items first thing in the morning.
In this holy connection, we arranged a programme with the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students and some local devotees at our premises. The programme commenced with prayer, Bhagavad Gita recitation, and Bhajan. One of the GAP teachers gave a speech about the significance of Vishu and its message. At the end of the celebrations, students and devotees burst crackers, which is part of the Vishu celebration. We concluded the programme by distributing Prasad to the attendees.

Observed the shradhanjali for His Holiness Srimat Swami Smarananandaji Maharaj

With solemnity and devotion, we observed the special puja, Homa, and memorial shradhanjali for our beloved Sangha Guru, His Holiness Srimat Swami Smarananandaji Maharaj.
The puja rituals began with Mangalarati, meditation, Vedic prayer, followed by a special puja along with bhajans and Homa. After the homa, the memorial shradhanjali was performed, simultaneously with bhaga offerings to Sri Ramakrishna.
At the end of the programme, we distributed sumptuous Prasad to a number of devotees and others.
As Revered Maharaj was very fond of preserving trees everywhere, in His name, we have planted saplings of fruit trees amidst many devotees on the same day.
In the evening, we also carried out relief work for poor families residing in coastal areas of the Arabian Sea. These fishermen are unable to catch fish during the summer season, making it very difficult to sustain their families. In this drastic predicament, we distributed 7 kg of rice and 2 kg of moong dal each to 52 families on the same day, Sunday, 7th April 2024.

Celebrated Sri Ramakrishna Birthday Jayanti at Koyilandy Math

The birthday of Sri Ramakrishna fell on Tuesday, the 12th of March 2024. We celebrated His Holy birthday with pomp and solemnity. The programme commenced with Mangalarati, followed by meditation, prayer, and special bhajans. The special puja began in the morning, followed by Homa and puspanjali. Thereafter, an insightful lecture on Sri Ramakrishna was delivered by a devotee named Sri Kunjiraman to more than 150 devotees assembled in the Temple. After the Bhaga arati, several people were sumptuously fed.
As Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna himself initiated the "Daridra Narayana seva," to honor His divine glories, we performed the puja of Daridra Narayana seva by distributing Sarees and Lungis to each of the 85 families on this very auspicious day.

Celebrated Maha Shivaratri at Koyilandy Math

The Maha Shivaratri puja celebration was performed in a simple manner at our Math on 8th March 2024, Friday. The puja began after the evening Sri Ramakrishna Arati followed by special bhajans and Abhishekam of Lord Shiva with puspanjali by devotees.
At the conclusion of the celebrations, we distributed Prasad to around 30 devotees.

The Archway inauguration ceremony done at Koyilandy Math

With overwhelming joy and happiness, we want to share that on the very auspicious occasion of Srimat Swami Adbhutanandaji's janmatithi, we inaugurated the Archway at the entrance of Koyilandy Math on Saturday 24th February 2024. The inauguration of the Archway ceremony was conducted by Srimat Swami Swaprabhanandaji Maharaj on behalf of the Most Revered Vice President, Srimath Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj, as the Revered Maharaj was absent. However, Revered Vice President Maharaj sent His blessings covered by a letter, which was read out in the assembly of devotees.
The plaque of the Archway opening ceremony commenced at 9:30 am, followed by a public meeting where distinguished guest speakers were present. The public meeting began with a Vedic prayer by the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students, followed by speeches and bhajans. The meeting concluded with a benedictory speech by Srimat Swami Swaprabhanandaji Maharaj, Ramakrishna Mission, Thiruvananthapuram.
We concluded the programme with a closing song and distributed lunch Prasad to over 200 devotees and others. In the evening, to mark the occasion, we distributed 35 sarees and 25 dhotis to 35 poor families.

Celebrated Swami Vivekananda's birthday (Tithi puja) at Koyilandy Math

As usual, we celebrated the 162nd birthday Tithi puja of Swami Vivekananda on Friday, the 2nd of February 2024. The celebrations commenced early in the morning with Mangalarati at 5 am, followed by meditation, prayers with chanting of Katha Upanishad, Special puja, Homa, Puspanjali, and Bhogarati. Sri Ramachandran KV, our guest speaker, spoke about Swamiji's life and message. At the end, we served sumptuous Prasad to around 300 devotees, including students and other attendees.

75th Republic Day Celebrated at Koyilandy Math

The 75th Republic Day has been celebrated at our Ashrama premises on Friday, 26th January 2024. The programme commenced with flag hoisting by Swami Shyamalananda, Sri Ramakrishna Mission, Nabadwip along with the singing of the National Anthem. This was followed by songs, dances, and speeches. The speeches were delivered by 4 students, and teachers of Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa.

We celebrated the consecration ceremony of the Sri Ram Mandir, which took place in Ayodhya

In connection with the Sri Rama Mandir consecration ceremony at Ayodhya, we conducted a simple puja of Sri Rama, followed by bhajans and speeches. Three speakers – Mr. Madhavan Bodhi, Mr. Sarath Pallott and the Adhyaksha of the Koyilandy Math – enlightened  on the significance of Sri Rama Mandir and the teachings of Lord Sri Rama. The event concluded with the distribution of lunch prasad to numerous attendees. In the evening, a Special Ramnam sankirtanam was performed after the prayer, and we illuminated the Temple in celebration.

National Youth Day celebrated at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated Youth Day on Friday, the 12th of January 2024, with our Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students, along with a few devotees and volunteers. The programme began with a rally through the village, followed by songs. Upon returning to the Math premises, we conducted a programme, featuring an opening song and speeches by students and teachers. The President of this Ashrama, Swami Sundarananda, delivered a motivational message from Swamiji to inspire the students.
The proceedings concluded with the distribution of Prasad to approximately 60 people, including students.

Conducted a Health Awareness Camp at Koyilandy Math

Upon the request of the local inhabitants and the fisherman community, along with our "Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa students," we organized a medical treatment camp in collaboration with SAHANI Hospital, Koyilandy, on Sunday, the 7th of January 2024. Doctors from the hospital addressed and treated various health issues, including EGG, cardiology, and general check-ups. In total, 90 individuals, including GAP students, received medical attention.

Celebrated 171st birthday (Tithi Puja) of Holy Mother Sarada Devi

The journey into the new year of 2024 commenced on January 1st with Sri Ramakrishna Kalpataru, where He bestowed unconditional blessings upon His devotees, affirming, "Your soul is illumined." On January 3rd, Wednesday, we were further blessed by the celebration of Holy Mother Sarada Devi's 171st birthday. Undoubtedly, the years ahead promise to be filled with insightful events. Our commemoration of Sri Holy Mother Sarada Devi began at 5 am with Mangalarati, followed by meditation, prayer, a special puja, and homa. Mr. Suvra Banerjee from Bangalore, speaking in English, and Mr. Srikumar, a devoted speaker in Malayalam, both illuminated the glories of Holy Mother Sarada Devi for the attendees. Following the Bhogarati, we served a sumptuous lunch to around 160 people, including students. 

Sri Ramakrishna Kalpataru Celebrated at Koyilandy Math

Bhagwan Sri Ramakrishna bestowed His blessings on this day, 1st January 1886, to His devoted followers—a divine blessing that transcends time and extends to all sincere devotees who dedicate their minds to Him.In commemoration of His glory, we celebrated Sri Ramakrishna Kalpataru Divas on Monday, 1st January 2024, at our Ashrama premises. 
The programme commenced at 3:30 pm with prayers and meditation, followed by Bhajan, reading from "Sri Ramakrishna Great Master," and speeches. Insightful speeches were delivered by Swami Bhavapriyananda, a monk from Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, Kozhikode, and Manoj Kumar Master, the principal of Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode.As a culmination of the event, we distributed tea and snacks to 120 people, including devotees, students of Gadadhar Abhudaya Prakalpa, along with their parents.

An Archway Work in Progress

Following up on the email dated 9th November 2023 regarding the Archway construction, I am providing an update on the work in progress. You can find pictures of the Archway work in the provided link below. The inauguration is scheduled for the birthday of Srimath Swami Adbhutanandaji Maharaj on 24th February 2024, Saturday,  by Most Revered Srimath Swami Suhitanandaji Maharaj, Vice President of Ramakrishna Math and Mission. Youth Convention and Devotee Conference at Koyilandy Math

To rejuvenate the quality of the youth, we organized a unique youth convention on Sunday, November 26, 2023. The programme commenced with guided meditation and Vedic prayers, followed by two luminaries: Dr. T.G.K. Murthy, a retired scientist from ISRO, who spoke about science to encourage students to explore their hidden qualities with spiritual thoughts. He also explained the recent historical achievement of ISRO in the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3 through a PowerPoint video.
Swami Brahmaparananda from Ramakrishna Math Advaita Ashrama, Kalady, shared his spiritual thoughts along with the message of Swami Vivekananda.
Finally, to make the youth aware of the significant impact made by Ramakrishna Math and Mission, we presented a video, "Blooming Lotus of Humanity," in Malayalam language to the youth.
Approximately 35 college students from different areas of Koyilandy attended the convention. They were provided with sumptuous food before leaving the Ashrama premises. Also in the evening, a Devotee conference was held in which 50 people participated.

Celebrated Children day

As you are aware, on Tuesday, the 14th of November 2023, we celebrated Sri Jawaharlal Nehru's birthday, which the Government of India has declared as Children's Day. On this occasion, we organized an event with the Gadadhar Abbhudaya Prakalpa students, teachers, and guest speakers to instill in the students a sense of their values and the importance of a bright future.
The programme commenced with a Vedic prayer by Br. Vrajeshachaitanya and Br. Murarichaitanya, followed by music, dance, and speeches by students, teachers, and guests.
During the event, students shared their knowledge and creative ideas, showcasing their talents in music and speeches. Simultaneously, teachers imparted valuable insights to help students understand the significance of their lives. Guest speakers narrated inspiring stories to bring out the hidden qualities within them.
To conclude the celebration, sumptuous food was provided to 65 attendees, including students, parents, and others.

Celebrated Kali Puja (Diwali) at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated Kali puja (Diwali) on Sunday, 12th November 2023 by placing a picture of Maa Kali in our shrine. After the evening Arati of Sri Ramakrishna Bhajans, Pushpanjali, and Arati were duly performed.  At the end of the puja, around 70 devotees took prasad.

Archway Appeal For Koyilandy Math

Celebrated Maha Ashtami by Distributing

Today, as we have celebrated Maha Ashtami, a significant day of Durga Puja on the 22nd of October, 2023, I extend my warm regards and best wishes to you and your family.
This morning, we observed the Maha Ashtami puja in the presence of Ma Durga's picture. To mark this auspicious festival, we provided a sumptuous meal to 68 people from our Ashrama and its surroundings. All of them expressed great joy in participating in our ritual.

Distribution of Sarees and lungees on the occasion of Durga Puja

To commemorate the auspicious occasion of Navaratri and to bring smiles to the faces of the underprivileged, especially those living in the foothill areas, we distributed sarees and lungis to 60 families in three villages within the Kozhikode district on the morning of Sunday, 15th October 2023. Each family received one saree and one lungi. The joy on their faces upon receiving these garments is truly heartwarming. Witnessing their happiness, we are inspired to provide them with more facilities in the near future.

Celebrated Matrupuja at Koyilandy Math

We organized a special event named "Matrupuja," held on Sunday, October 8th, 2023, at our premises, aimed at instilling and promoting values and a dignified culture among GAP students. We are acutely aware of the prevailing lack of respect, adoration, and humility in the current generation, particularly among the youth. In response to this concern, we conducted this event, which received a remarkable response from the local community, especially the fishermen. I firmly believe that their participation will contribute to the enhancement of values and a dignified culture in our society.
The event commenced with traditional Vedic chanting from the "Taittiriya Upanishad," followed by a welcome address. Miss Radha Devi . B Jeevanvriti karyakartha  Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, delivered an eloquent message to both parents and children. Subsequently, the Matrupuja was performed by the respective children. After the puja, an interactive session took place between the children and their parents, allowing them to discuss their feelings and experiences.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a sumptuous lunch Prasad served to all 120 attendees.

Celebrated Gandhiji Jayanthi at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated the life and profound teachings of Gandhiji on Monday, October 2, 2023, with the GAP students at the Ashrama premises. The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by songs and enlightening speeches. Two dedicated GAP teachers and one esteemed guest speaker from outside shared his insight with the children, emphasizing Gandhiji's unique contributions to India's development and the preservation of our cherished values and culture. Several students also expressed their thoughts on Gandhiji's enduring messages.
To conclude the event, we distributed fruit and sweet prasada to the 58 students and other attendees.

Distributed School Uniforms to The Poor Students

We are thrilled to inform you that we have provided school uniforms to 58 underprivileged students. They all reside along the picturesque coast of the Arabian Sea. It's noteworthy that their parents make a living as fishermen.
These students are currently enrolled in stds 4 to 7, attending various schools in the village of Koyilandy, located in the Kozhikode district. To give you a glimpse of this heartwarming endeavor.

Sri Krishna Janmashtami Celebrated at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated Sri Krishna Janmashtami in our Ashrama on Wednesday, the 6th of September, 2023.  We had the Bhagavad Gita chanting of all chapters in the morning.  Sri Krishna Puja was performed followed by sandhya arathi at 7 pm after which we had Bhajans and  Pushpanjali. In the end, the prasad was distributed to about 25 devotees.

Celebrated Onam Festival at Koyilandy Math

We celebrated Onam, the core festival of the Keralites on Sunday the 27th of August, 2023 in the morning.  This is chiefly to commemorate King Mahabali, whose spirit is believed to grace the auspicious occasion on this particular day.
The programme began with prayers followed by bhajans, etc. at the Ashrama shrine. The participants included students of  Gadadhar Abhyudaya, teachers, and devotees. To mark the festivity of the celebration, students and other people performed their dance,  and musical programme and delivered speeches at the Auditorium.  On this very auspicious day, we distributed Sarees and Dhotis to 19 poor ladies and 14 gents. After concluding the ceremony, lunch prasad was distributed among the students, teachers,  devotees, and volunteers who counted around 100 people.

Celebrated 77th Independence Day at Koyilandy Math

With due respect to "Har Ghar Tiranga” and “Meri Maati Mera Desh,” we celebrated the 77th Independence Day, on Tuesday, 15th August, 2023 at our Math. The historical event was conducted by the Gadadhar Abhyudaya Students and some local people. The celebrations began with Flag hoisting followed by the National Anthem and various events that included speeches, songs, and dance.  To mark this occasion, we conducted different types of competition among the students of GAP followed by prize distribution for the winners.  We concluded the celebrations with a closing song and distributed prasad among 80 people.

Distress relief done for Blanket Distribution

Kerala experiences torrential rains every year during the rainy season. The poor inhabitants residing in thatched houses near the foothills face difficult times in severe cold during this season.  We have located  300 families from different villages belonging to the districts of Kannur and Kozhikode and distributed blankets among them for four days.

Organized a half day devotees  Conference at Koyilandy  Math

We organized a half-day devotees' conference at our premises on Sunday, 23rd July 2023. The conference proceeded with meditation and prayer followed by Bhajans, Gita chanting, readings from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother's conversation, and Swami Vivekananda Message. In the end, Mr. V.Dhanamjay, Thalassery, a Malayalam speaker, gave his enlightening speech to the devotees. The programme concluded with the distribution of snacks prasad to around 70 people. 

Study  Materials Distributed to the Poor Students

I sincerely convey my regards and namaskars to you. I hope you are doing well by the grace of the Holy Trio. With reference to the appeal, dated 21st June 2023, seeking funds for giving study materials. We would like to inform you that we have distributed the same among 397 poor students of 9 Government schools on the 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 7th of June 2023. The detailed distribution list is mentioned below in the table for your kind perusal.

This noble initiative has been possible only through your kind cooperation and sincere help either financially or intellectually. In this regard, I remember Swami Vivekananda's words, " They alone live who live for others, rest are dead than alive".   You have rendered your service in whatever possible ways,  with sincere feelings and devotion. This selfless service towards the poor students is an offering made at the feet of  God, which is my firm belief. Requesting you to keep in touch as always.

Guru PoornimaCelebrated at Koyilandy Math

Guru Poornima was celebrated on Monday, the 3rd July 2023 at our premises with solemnity. The programme commenced with Vedic prayer followed by meditation and bhajans. Swami Nandatmajanandaji Maharaj, editor, Prabhuddha Keralam, Thrissur was the special guest speaker who spoke on the importance of Guru Poornima. The programme  ended with prasad distribution to around 78 devotees.

Conducted a Youth Camp at Koyilandy Math

This is to inform you that we conducted a Youth Camp on Sunday, 18th June 2023.  A total of 59 youths from different areas of 4 villages in Koyilandy, Kozhikode district participated in the camp. The Camp started with the registration of the names of the participants followed by guided meditation and prayer in the Temple. Thereafter Swami Narasimhananda, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Kozhikode and Swami Brahmaparananda, Ramakrishna Math, Advaita Ashrama, Kalady spoke to the youth on values and their future career.  In between there were interactions and question-answer sessions with the youth. In the end, the participants were given books of the Holy Trio followed by lunch prasad.
